The Cowboy Letters are account of a five-month drive of 3,000 cattle from Brownsville, Texas, to Montana in 1882 along the Great Western Cattle Trail. Although the letters are fiction, they are firmly based on real experiences on the trail. The source is the best account we could find of cowboy life.
